Be the best version of YOU!
Daring to be different and embracing what makes you unique can be one of the most empowering things that you can do for yourself. Be brave and delve into your inner being and appreciate all the traits and quirks that make YOU!
Our differences allow us to stand out and define our place in the world. No two people are the same and thank goodness, how dull would the world be if that was the case. Yet from the moment we are born we are told how to behave, and how best to fit in with those around us.
In early life many of these lessons are important because they enable us to learn and discover the world in a safe and secure manner. In our teenage years we rebel, as choice becomes an option. If you look back at yourself as a teenager how does it make you feel? Did you dye your hair crazy colours and wear the ridiculous fashion trends or were you more intent on fitting in?
Daring to be Different!
The pressure from peers and the media is never ending and can make us feel uncomfortable to be who we truly are. And yet if you want to live a happy, authentic and fulfilling life it is imperative that you stop conforming and accept every facet that makes you who you are.
Tips for discovering your X Factor
Personality Refresh
Your life experience will have already determined your personality characteristics. This does not mean they are inflexible. It doesn’t matter where you fall on the stereotypical landscape because all personality types have strengths whether you’re an extrovert or an introvert. Discover yours and use them.
Stepping out of your comfort zone is always an option however tentatively. Daring to be different means learning to tone up or down elements of your existing personality and can be a game changer in most aspects of your life. Spend time tuning into when you feel your most confidant and in harmony with yourself.
Image Overhaul
Stop trying so hard to fit in! Whether it’s hair, makeup or fashion, why are you conforming to someone else’s ideals? Being comfortable in your own skin is life changing.
Cease being a slave to fashion trends and create your own style instead. I enjoy customising clothes to suit my body and I am often complemented for doing so. Embrace wearing what you want depending on your mood and how the clothes make you feel. Not having to conform is the most empowering feeling in the world. Obviously in the work environment this can be challenging, but I’m not scared to adapt the clothes I wear into my own unique style.
You can choose what accessories you add including jewellery and hair pieces. If you are minimalistic, that’s fantastic that’s your vibe.
Habits that work for you
Social media is saturated with habits that we need to aspire to. And the pressure these bring can seriously damage our self worth despite their best intentions. Knowing your unique habits is a whole different thing and integral to who you are.
Naturally as human beings we all have our own habit set, whether it’s a daily routine or our own personal quirks. Often people point these out to us and it’s instinctive to feel embarrassed by them. If they make you feel good and give your life structure you don’t need to change them. Being aware of them can help you to shape your life. You can choose which you keep and which you adapt.
Personal Taste
Why is this so difficult? You watch a couple in a restaurant perusing the menu. After a few moments that inevitable question surfaces ‘What are you having?’ Do we really care what the person next to us is choosing and should it influence our choice?
This applies to so many aspects of our lives. It’s healthy to gain others perspectives, this helps give clarity to how we really feel when making decisions. Ultimately you should always make the choice that feels congruent with you.
Daring to be different is having the courage to say no to that pushy person who tries to tell you what you need. They aren’t you, so why should they decide. Have faith in your gut instincts, and give yourself a licence to choose what you really want. Be true to yourself and you will feel amazing!
Finding your voice
Imagine you are in a discussion and everyone is sharing their ideas. Your mind is racing trying to keep up with all the different perspectives. Suddenly an idea forms in your mind as to how you see things. Do you have the confidence to share it or are you analysing it to pieces?
Our brains are all wired differently and whether you are a blue sky thinker or more logical is irrelevant. Every viewpoint is valid and can help shape the final plan.
Never be scared to share how you see things, we all come from different backgrounds and experiences. These have shaped us into the people that we are. New ideas bring innovation and excitement to the world.
Be Brave!
Be You!
And most importantly Dare to Be Different!!!
